HMH has acquired the staff and clients of citrus, a creative advertising and design firm with offices in Portland and Bend, Ore.
“Adding the talent and breadth of experience of citrus is an exciting strategic move for HMH. It creates opportunities to grow in new categories,” said HMH president Ed Herinckx. “The staff at citrus are the right people and the right culture to be a strong fit at HMH.”
citrus agency principals joining HMH are Peter Levitan, who will become a vice president at HMH, and Kevin Archer, executive creative director. citrus staff joining the HMH Portland office are Jeff Dooley, creative director; Jim Randall, account director; Keely Phillips, senior account executive; Michael Hofler, senior art director; Marcia Schoelen, senior production manager; and Andrew Maudlin, production artist. Bend-based staff include Kevin Archer, Ann Majeski, senior account executive; and Kathy Valenti, copywriter.
“We recognized that to reach the goal of offering our clients expanded digital, public relations and media buying services, we needed the broader capabilities of a group like HMH,” said Peter Levitan, president and CEO of citrus since purchasing the agency in 2002.
Clients at citrus include Dr. Martens, Nike, the Montana Lottery, Caesar’s Entertainment, Inc., PeaceHealth, Idaho Power, Oregon State University, Boise Inc., Digimarc, Central Oregon Visitors Association and the University of California at Santa Barbara. HMH clients include Vestas Wind, Freightliner Trucks, Subway restaurants, Oregon Community Credit Union, Owens Corning and PacificSource Health Plans.
